Nursing Programs
Nursing education programs are growing these days, due to the extremely high demand for nurses. The populations of the world are getting larger and living longer, creating more of a need for health care and health care facilities. At this point, there is an estimated shortage of 125,000 nurses, and it is projected that by the year 2010, there will be a shortage of 434, 000. The United States is on a shortage of nurses but continues to hold standards high for awarding nursing degrees. Regardless, almost every city in the US has openings for nurses. You must have a high school diploma to enter into a nursing education program. Some programs require that you take and pass a test before entering into the nursing school. Check with the program you are interested in, as some also require completion of certain basic classes such as chemistry, biology, and a certain level of math.
There are many nursing schools and online schools that offer LPN degrees (two
year nursing programs), BSN nursing programs (four year nursing degrees) and
CNA certification programs. Most programs require a CNA certification before
entrance is granted to the student. After completion of your BSN nursing program
or your LPN, nursing school to be put to use, requires licensure. To obtain
your license, you must take the NCLEX-RN or the NCLEX-PN licensure test to
